Qualifications? In this economy, dealerships will do anything to sell a car, they are giving out financing like candy.

One late payment shouldn't affect your credit, maybe 10 late payments or non-payments would.

okay i thought there would be a minimum cost of the car to be eligible for financing

FYI the car is 10 000 how much do you think id get for my 99 civic (i know its vague but i checked the blue book value and its at 4000 so how much would a dealer give roughly?

Dealer will probably low ball you. Sell it privately, depending on the km's and shape of your car, you might be able to get more then $4000.

Good luck.

Clean your car good, like really good such as shampoo the carpet, clean the dash and door panels, etc. And perform preventive maintenance like front and rear brake replacement and service, oil change, and new tires if needed. People are more likely to buy a car that was recently serviced and very clean, and will be willing to pay the asking price.

Then it will be a while before someone will actually buy the car off you. But it will be worth the wait.
