engine light
hey what s up guys
maybe someone can help . i just got a civic ( 2000 SE) . the guy who had it before me supup the car , he put an air intake and a performance mufler in it . and a few other things that are not stock ( i m not really sure wha t they are ) .. anyhow the car drives fine however the engine lights comes on . i disconnected the battery and connected it back then the engine light goes off . 2 days after it turns back on . i done it twice and i got the same results. Now i m not sure why the engine light is coming on .. can anyone help ??. Also i m not sure if this is just a coincidence but it comes on when i m on the highway , also the door panels are missin a molding or something so the air gets through ( you can hear the air when going on the highway , however u cant feel the air going in ). hope someone can help

prolly your cat
i had the same problem.
the reason it comes on on the highway is becuase your foot is giving the gas pedal consistant pressure so your o2 sensor can pick up an accurate reading.

You could take it to a Honda dealer and have them diagnose it. Then you will know exactly why it is showing the check engine.
