A power inverter is a good idea, that's what i use in my car when i want to bring my laptop along with me. You can get a good one from canadian tire.

Actually there's this store called xscargo there one in hamilton, i think one in t.o. and a few other places. U can get an inverter for cheap there , that's where i got mine - $65 for a 500w
although there are smaller ones for cheaper if u don't need a 500w.

Look some where on the laptop prob near the plug it should say the wattage and voltage and everythin else there.

v= 19
I(amps)= 3.16
w=vxI
therefore acording to that info it should be roughly 60w which soundes bout right

check on the power "brick" adaptor thingie, it should have a label that tells you exactly how many watts it needs as input.

i am thinking of getting one of these for the same reason.. i want to find out if i can put an extra battery in the trunk, hook an inverter up, and have that power an outlet in the glove box, yet still have the battery charged by the alternator. anyone done this?

you will need an isolator to charge the batteries seperately on your stock alt and you will need a sealed gel cell battery so it doesn't emit fumes while its charging
