We have a 3 cars that have bin impounded because of this at my work. The guy in that pic I know. I say it's right that you get your car impounded for doing over 50 km's, but you are not going to say I'm street racing when there is no one eals around me,I'm just speeding.

BTW, the highway traffic act isn't criminal legislation, it's quasi-criminal. that's why there is no presumtion of innocence. in the HTA you are guilty until proven innocent... I'm pretty sure

oh yeah, I just thought of something pretty sweet... this is wicked incentive for people to run from cops. if you're getting fuct anyways, why not take the chance? i kinda hope people actually run from cops and there is huge backlash of negative consequences due to this stupid new law. who is the quad who thinks of this legislation anyways?

all this is going to do is case more high speed chases because people wont want to spend 2 grand plus, and sometimes the flow of traffic is 150........ If the law is going to do this bullsh0t they better start closing off streets and have organized street racing where it can be controlled

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if that was Bruce that got caught going 170km/h at 12:01AM on the 401 the day that legislation was in effect.
I don't understand why people have that need for speed. My car never broke over 120km on highways anywhere in Canada and I've been driving since 1985.

never say never :P
haha, i went through that phase when i was younger and just got my license. In hindsight it was pretty stupid and i got very lucky. I generally don't speed anymore per se, just accelerate fast to the speed limit.
I think a lot of people in the general public and the media are making speeding and accelerating synonymous.

speeding is like masturbation... you might say you don't do it...

and procrastination is like masturbation, it feels good until you realize you just screwed yourself....
but then that equates speeding to procrastination which begs the question, why are you speeding if you're trying to procrastinate?

NO!!!
you can't...
its really stupid.. its pretty much a breach of the constitution... you're found guilty without a trial....
you can't even appeal it... so if a cop doesn't like the way you look, he can book you for 50 over, and you're done....

lol...
the police are like a TV drama now a days... they try to do what will make them popular at the time to get better ratings with people.
If some one stabs 100 people with a fork, guess what, tommorrow they will pass a law banning forks outside resturants, then they will go on a blitz and arrest people who have forks outside of resturants and claim they saved us all...
idiots...
