me myself wouldnt mind buyinng an older MK3 in diesel or just a 2.0L golf wolfsburg edition.
i still love my SIR but something about the older style VDUBS that catch my eye... the lines on the vehicle are so smooth... since i drive to brantford everyday for work i think id consider a Diesel for sure... not the MK4 but 93-99 ( mk3 )

the interior looks fine when new, but falls apart very quickly, the finishes come off quite easily and stuff falls off (like the glovebox door), the shift **** will chip off, and so on. the chassis is very good when new, I'd even say confidence inspiring, the brakes are also quite excellent. the engine is absolute garabge, but who cares about that. the tranny is also notchy.
but for a lease, esp at that price, I can't see why not.
