I have 16" rims on my 98 civic and it looks great, its lowered 2.25" tho.
For more on the looks side go 16" no bigger, for performance go with a 15".
This has been beaten to death. Search is your friend. Your going to see the same answers tho, its your car so its your call. What one person likes another hates.

16" rim will fill the wheel well with more rim then rubber compared to a 15" rimbut either way with the right size tires for your rims your overall diameter is going to be the same or real close.
I guess the qestion is do you want rubber band tires or some sidewall. If your suspension is harsh with stock rims, go 15" if you ride is plush and you can afford to lose some ride comfort go 16".
