EG si front rotors on EG dx?

Quick question.... i tried to do a quick search but no luck...

I drive a 92 dx hatch.... I also have a 92 si hatch parts car. Do the rotors on the si fit on my dx?

Also this one just came to mind... the si has rear discs... how complicated is it to swap that to my dx and what parts do i need to swap?

thanks for the help in advance. its very much appreciated.

front rotors on civics from 88-00+ came in 2 sizes, eiter 9.4 or 10.2 inches. just measure and you will know if it'll fit. in either case, the swap is pretty straight forward, bigger is better when it comes to brakes.

the rear is also a pretty straight forward swap, barring any seized bolts. I swapped the entire rear trailing arm on my car, but you can get away with just swapping hubs, ebrake lines, and hoses, plus prop valve and master cyl if you can. the actual trailing arm stamping itself is the same, the difference is the bits that are attached to it as far as I know. but doing the whole trailing arm is so much easier, and you get to change the bushings and clean/repaint the thing.

I know for a fact SI rotors are 10.2 and won't fit on a CX.

You will need the SI brake knukle assembly to use those rotors.

strip the brakes (caliper, rotor, flex line), remove the whole knuckle, remove axle nut, pop out upper and lower ball joints, swap knuckle onto other car, replace brake components, and voila - big brakes. it's really easy if the axle comes out ok (I had a very hard time with mine, I left the nut on the end threaded a little bit and I took a sledge to it, it finally came out). always replace axle nuts with new ones!! also remember to get new cotter pins for the ball joints

i actually just got the ball joints on my car replaced... do the ball joints on my current brakes fit the si. Cause in that case i would just use my new ball joints when doing the conversion

nice.... thats awesome cause now i didn't just spend cash on the balljoints for nothing... im gonna be taking the parts off of the si today. Hopefully all looks good and all just swap it over.

As for the mc if i remember correctly the one i have on the si is messed. Do i really need to swap over the mc and pv for such a minor brake upgrade?

perhaps not, but keep the si one as a core so when ur current one needs replacement you can get the proper rebuilt one

yeah that sounds like a good idea actually... i'll do that... just spent the last 4 hours in the backyard spring cleaning the **** out of everything. Lots of junk all over the place. Hopefully within the next hour i can have everythign clean and ready for automotive work. I've been slowly taking apart this si so today will be the brakes.

Anyways thanks alot for your help guys.. especially Bbarbulo... lots of help here and also back in the old tcc.

If i run into any problems ill be back. lol

ok... so i was out removing the parts and can you beleive that the rotor size on the si was the same as on my dx... and i measure incase my car had si brakes already but inface both mine and the si rotors where about 9.5inchs... shouldn't the si be 10 something. im not sure whats going on there but perhaps someone could explain.... i mean could it be possible that the previous owner got the smaller rotor size and put that on his si?? i really don't see how that could have worked....

like I said, measure dude. never blindly take advice from forums. I don't know why your brake size would be diff't, it doesn't really matter. ****** the rear disks, and wait for a cheap set of integra fronts to become available.

according to parts websites, only the 1994-1995 Si hatchback w/ ABS got the bigger brakes (10.2 ~ 262 mm)

and some sedans, a few coupes too (most w/ ABS only)

makes sense... and its not really a problem... main reason why i wanted to switch over the si brakes to my car was because my rotors and pads are shot on my car... so i figured why spend cash on new pads and rotors when i can just upgrade to si if i have it. Not only would i save cash but i would have a better set up. But now the good thing is i can just use the rotors cause they will fit... lol...

any regardless i need to remove that parts from that car cause like i said its a parts car and im slowing removing **** from it..

as for the rears im just gonna swap those over and replace my drums.... that'll be it for me for now as breaks go. If i end up going gsr i'll do both from and back.... i have a jdm d15 in that car also im thinking of switching over... basically just making the car a slight bit better.. nothing great but still an upgrade..

anyways thanks guys...
