Drum to Disc brake conversion
#2
Lets just say if you do it once, you'll never want to do it again
but well worth the one and only time, if its your car of course
if you do your own labour then not much but paying someone to do it then its gonna cost you roughly about $500 for everything
cost my buddy $250 since he did it himself

Depends on how much you can get the trailing arms for. If your getting trailing arms, get them complete with e-brake cables, and pick yourself up a set of rear brake flex hoses for an SIR. I would also invest in new pads and rotors, and make sure the calipers are working fine, I picked up a rebuild kit for mine. If your doing the swap yourself just be prepared for seized bolts, that's the problem I ran into. Also, if this is just for the street and you are not planning on tracking don't bother swapping out the master cylinder and prop valve. I didn't do it on mine, and the brakes are awesome.

You can save some money and just buy generic pads and rotors, it's six bolts that hold the trailing arm to the body, disconnect the brake line at the rear flex houses, and cut/disconnect the ABS lines if necessary. There is a heat shield that needs to be removed to get the e-brake cables out. Like trybal mentioned, you will need to bleed the brakes and have an alignment done. If your not comfortable doing it your self, you should at least be able to change the pads and rotors yourself, then you can take it somewhere for the swap. I had mine done by Chris_v2 and his buddy Allan.

Thanks for the recommendation Sean!
All the info. you need is pretty much here. Unfortunately you might encounter a few rusted bolts, so I would purchase a few bolts from Honda before just incase you break a few.

i picked up trailing arms with e-brake cables from 98 GSR for 170$ ---- flex lines(oem)70$/both i havent installed them yet but i went to cayuga road course yesterday with drums on the back and they did just fine ..
ill be looking at hp pads and some cross drilled rotors to finish it off... i'll install em with a buddy + a case of beer in the driveway

it is a mission but you'll be pretty happy with the finishing results
took me only 2 days to do with about 5 bolts breaking, cutting 2 off and a little welding to do .\
keep in mind that you need to keep your ek lower control arms cuz there longer then integra ones

i have a question of my own now...my car is a 1997 civic Si with drums in the rear.
Ive posted that i want to buy a set of SiR rear disc for a conversion...but have gotten nothing but ppl offering me gsr or integra rear discs...
here are my goals...skunk2 LCA...function form 2 coilovers...asr subframe brace.
if i were to get integra complete front and rear brakes...
a) will i need to purchase different application LCA/coilovers/subframe brace/etc.
b) will abs sensors work the same
c) will a jdm rear swap bar fit without modification??

The GSR trailing arms are the same as the SIR, that's what I put on my '98. Just be sure to pick up the parts that are mentioned above. A) The civic parts will be fine, if the stock stuff lines up, then so should the aftermarket stuff. B) I'm not 100% sure that you can swap the sensors over from the drums, possibly due to length and mounting position. (can someone clarify this for me) If your GSR's come with ABS sensors then you can just wire them into the factory lines. C) Not sure.
