Try and source the parts yourself... if you look hard enough you'll get a good deal.

I would be needing these parts from a 3G DC teg

Correct???

Rear trailing arm with hub assembly for disk brakes
Upper control arm
Compensator arms (at the front end of trailing arm)
Rotors
Brake calipers and brackets
Brake pads with shims (get the genuine Honda ones)
Parking brake cables

excellent swap article here maybe sticky material...

Yeah that'll work. You can get it off a Del Sol also...

Check the local graveyards for an Si with disc's. I saw a red eg at Dom's in Courtice a few months ago that had all parts needed. Might be cheaper to pick it up there and do it yourself.

If I'm not mistaken, you'll need the rear flex hoses as well.

Let's say that I wanted to do this conversion on my 99 Si. It's got front discs but rear drums. I also have ABS.

Would ABS still work afterwards or would the conversion not be possible at all because of the ABS?

You can pickup the parts for around $500, that is the trailing arm, with the disc assembly including the calipers. That may or may not come with the e-brake cables.

I picked up a complete rear suspension (springs, shocks, upper/lower control arms, trailling arm, discs, calipers and anti-sway bar) of a 2000 SiR w/o the brake cables for $690 tax in, at a local salvage yard.

Installation, if you live near London: I know an excellent mechanic that can do it for $200. That's professional installation including wiring the e-brake cables, and bleeding the breaks again.

Anyway, you have an idea of prices now I hope.

BTW: Any Del sol rear end would work, teg(3rd gen?) and up would work, and of course 99-00 SiR If you have ABS, then you should get the setup off a car with ABS.

Oh, and the compensator arm on the trailing arm is not necessary, but usually they come with the trailing arm. All you really need is the trailling arm with the disc aseembly.

Thought of a few other things: the brake hoses with the bangio fitting at the end (again, this usually comes with the rear end); make sure you get the disc turned before hand (always a good idea);

I did the conversion myself and it was easy the hardest part was getting the suspension bolts out.
You need a couple of other things that know one mentioned if you want to do it right.
You need a master cylinder and brake booster from an integra LS not the GSR as the master cylinder on the GSR as provision for antilock and they changed the location of the hydraulic inlet and outlet tubes.
If you get the LS master cylinder and brake booster it's a direct replacement bolt on, for a 93 up civic. I picked mine up a junk yard in Paris ( ontario) for 70 bucks for both.

Hey Keith,

This conversion won't fit onto a 92 Civic Si? I don't see why not since 92-95 are essentially the same vehicle.

I'm gonna start lookin into this.. Brakes definately need upgrading before I boost this car or I will kill myself.

Regards,
OK

If you have an SI your brakes are the same as on the Integra LS as far as I know the calipers and rotors are the same the only thing that might be different is the master cylinder.
The SI has discs on the back right?
My car is a DX so it came with drums on the back and smaller rotors and calipers on the front. The only differance between the GSR and the LS is the GSR has antilock so the master cylinder is different but the other components are the same. I have the honda service manuals for both the Integra and the Civic so I will look them up and let you know

Yeah lemme know, I had heard the GSR brakes were bigger disks and the calipers were a bit better for a turbo'd civic application.

Ok I got the info. I had made a mistake.

All civics at least 92 up come with 9.2 inch front rotors except the 4door ex which has the 10.3 inch rotors like the GSR and the Delsol vtec.

as far as the master cylinder and brake booster goes the Civic cx dx ect come with 13/16 master cylinders and the SI and the EX delsol SI come with 7/8 master cylinders.
The integras come with 15/16 master cylinder and the delsol vetc does too, except the GSR which comes with a 1" master cylinder but its a bitch to hook it up if you dont know how to use a flaring tool as the brake lines do not match up, so your better off using the integra 15/16 MC.

None of the integra master cylinders will bolt up to the civic brake boosters but the integra 15/16 master cylinder and brake booster assemble will bolt in fine to the civic with no changes the stock lines just hooked up

Also if you can find one the brake propotional valve should be replaced on the DX its usually a 3030 number on it for front disc and rear drum for the integra 4 disc they use a valve with the number 4040 on it. my care as one with the number 3040 or 40 30 something like that but I never replaced mine as I don't think it makes a real big dif

I should mention that it all civics from 92 to 00 are the same at least until they came out with the new design

90-91 CR-x SI

but the rear LCA will push out about a 1/2 inch

and you need the EBC from a 88-91 tegz
plus run a T fitting
