Secondary Oxygen Sensor

Secondary Oxygen Sensor
I have a 98 acura el and the secondary oxygen sensor has gone bad. I have heard about a bypass for this sensor and am hoping to get some further information about it
Where can I buy the bypass from
Will I still pass emmisions
If this is not a suitable solution, do I need to buy a Honday/ Acura part, or is a bosch or similiar brand acceptable
thanks

well, you have a few options.
There is an o2 sensor simulator, which I'm not sure on the cost of. I'm not sure if you will still pass emissions with this either.
You can convert to obd1. Obd1 ecus only use the primary o2 sensor. Your car will still pass emissions converted to obd1, i've done lots of obd2 converted cars that pass emissions running obd1.
Buy a new secondary o2 sensor, which I beleive from a local part store is around $300+, from honda would be even more. Bosch or NTK o2 sensors are good IMO.
You won't pass emissions with an o2 code, and if the CEL is on, technically the emission test shouldn't even be performed (automatic fail).

I've paid less than $60 for NTK sensors (primary), but last time I called the same place for a secondary o2 they said it was like $300. I even questioned why it was so much, but they said the secondary ones are more.

there you go.
Now is that price is US dollars?
B/c our dollar is crap right now, so the exchage rate is brutal.
I checked hondaautomotiveparts.com and it was about the same price, but in US dollars, so its about $210 CDN after the exchange.
But the MSRP is about $300 so i'm not crazy, parts stores just rape you on prices i guess.
