EF Hatch

Hey been a while since i been on here. I got out of the Import scene for a while, but now its time to come back. I am buying a 91 Civic HB with a SOHC ZC... now I am looking for perf parts for it. I am not too familiar with the EFs or ZC's for that matter so any info y'all could give me would be much obliged...(hehe big word..LOL) I should make it clear that i am not lookin to buy used parts from anyone.... just cant remember any brands. Also i dont know what is available for a ZC

there are alot of parts available,,,
one place to start is E-GAY

do you want to swap in a diffrent motor .. as there would be more parts... swap in a b16 .. then do cams .. rods pistons valves and springs.

if u wanna stay sohc.. some parts you can use like the z6 manifold (intake) get an aem coldair intake .. some others aswell

sohc zc is the same as the d16a6 engine and pretty well all non-vtec d-series motors...so basically anything that goes on a 90/91 Si will work

dont use the a6 cam in the sohc zc you will see no performance gain, the sohc zc is basically a d16a6 if i remember right theres alot of information about the zc having a more agressive cam but no one has proven its any different than the a6, i had one in my crx when i bought it, it was an alright motor. bisimoto is your friend when it comes to d series motors almost anything you could want. the d series motors have potential but everyone wants to go b/h/k series, take the $1000 - $3500 you would spend on a swap and put it into the zc and youll destroy b series/h series thats the price of a decent build.

you can use any d series exhaust manifold on the zc, you may have to do some port matching though, easy to do with a dremel.

any d series intake manifold should work too you might need a spacer on the IM.

exospeed, crespo, jg engineering and bisimoto make cams. Pistons and rods are out there as the piston dimensions remained the same between d series iirc anything d series should fit for pistons and rods. check out d-series.org, everything you could want to know about the d-series motors will be there or honda-tech.

i can garuntee you.....that motor wont even touch b/h/k series engines clean and simple just cause its light but when it comes to a b-series or h-series ya they have wieght but ther effin quick bro if u put that 1000-3500 into k/h/b series u got ***** mi freind i wouldent waist mi time on zc if u can get a good deal for a better swap ...

ill take it youve never heard of bisimoto. you have to remember he already has the zc, which means he would be +1000 to 3500 as opposed to having to buy a swap and then having to mod that. k series is stupid expensive right now and for the price of a kswap the zc could be built to beat them and the k series would still be stock lol. b series you could get a deal on but youre only ending up with 30 more hp even at $1000 you just paid $33/hp using the b16 1st gen as an example. h series are decent because of the torque and power they produce compared to some of the b series but i still wouldnt buy one over a b with all the options that a bseries brings such as going hybrid in the future. he is not looking to swap, he is looking to work with what hes got right now. You also do understand that the weight difference between the d/b/f/h/k motors are all less than 100lbs which is negligible. lol not only b/h/k series can make power
