possible 1989 Acura Teggy Project

hi, i may be getting a 1989 Acura integra project car for free (just waiting for a reply to when i can pick it up) and i was wondering if its possible to put a 3rd Gen Integrea front end (with the "Bug-Eyes") onto a 1st Gen and what would be needed, Any thoughts or answers would be appreciated. this is the link to the Kijiji ad of the Car with Pictures: 1989 Acura Integra Hatchback Project Car for FREE - Kitchener / Waterloo cars Cars For Sale - Kijiji Kitchener / Waterloo

to each his own but that sounds like a horrible combo to me. the 1st is way too boxy to have such a round front clip put on there even if it were possible. I love the 1st gen's but personally if that one has a good motor and decent rear suspension I'd take it for parts and buy a 1st gen CRX shell. the front suspension on the rex can be dropped about 1.5" just by basically adjusting it. then add in the complete rear end suspension/axle of the teggy and get about 1" drop in the rear. the motor from it is the closest thing to a straight swap you could get in a first gen rex and for a car that light it'd be all you need anyway.

if you really must do what your suggesting, your gonna need a guy who can work magic with a welder, some serious bondo and a the ability to take harsh criticism everywhere you go with it cause every car I've seen a front clip swapped from a dc2 onto anything other than a ds2 has looked really really wrong. del slow's and civics look to long in the front with it and they at least are round like it. your trying to go from the 80's hard square corners to the 90's curves on one platform. if it's just cause the car is hard to get original style parts for look into a 87-89 accord front end.

I don't wanna sound like a hater, I'm all for originality but i just don't think this will look good. All the best to you if you do try and I hope you prove me wrong if you do.

the car irs self is a mission to build but putting on a 90's front end will be even more of a mission to do. but then again it is free, so i say try it if you can get the DC front for cheap. might not look good but you will never know until you do it.

Those Integra's are not very desireable cars... stick with 88-91 crx or civic hatch.

wow, im all about origanal on a car,but if a front end swap is what you disire i have completed a few for customers its alot more work than you think lots of cutting welding beating with hammers more cutting and expensive!. i put a new charger front end on a dakata pu it looked like **** but he loved it. thode old integras may not be pretty but alot of people swap motors suspention and those front ends on the appropriate year hatchs and crx cars also the old flip light prelude had a form of bseries called a b20A b21A dont mistake it for a later model b20b 0r b20z no parts on them are the same but that motor and tranny is a great swap cantidate for that integra the are rated 160hp which is hella fun in that litttle light teg! what ever your choice have fun
