Mechanican Problems..car won't start sometimes but will others (help)
Hey all, I've lurked the community for a while now but I don't post much.
I'm currently driving a 1997 Acura Integra GS. Recently, it refuses to start (engine won't turn over), but this will only happen after I've driven the car already that day. For example, I will get up and drive to school, starts no problem. Then it will start when I go to drive home. But, if I want to go out somewhere afterwards, it gives me a hard time and will not turn over after multiple tries. If I allow it to sit for a short period usually it will finally turn over, but just barely. The next time it wil start perfectly once again.
As of late the car has been seemingly weak as well, as in delayed acceleration when I step on the gas pedal, and at points it seems as if it is faltering/nearly about to stall until I press harder on the accelerator.
Any guesses as to what is wrong with the car?

Additional Information
-it has oil (put some in yesterday, could probably do for a change though)
-255,000km on stock motor
-gets normal mileage
-not sure if spark plugs have been changed
-car first gave me a hard time starting approximately 7-8 days ago, then did it once 4 days later. Recently (last 2 days) it has consistently been weak but only refused to start last night.
-it's an automatic (yeah, i know)

Do you mean it cranks but doesn't start or doesn't turn over at all?
If its turning over but doesn't start it could be number of things. Ex: spark plugs/wires/distributor cap or rotor/distributor/fuel injectors/main relay/bad negatives.
Pm Chris_v2 he could probably help you out if you bring the car to him. He'll probably post here within a day or two.

When it doesn't start, it cranks then after a period of time it doesn't crank, correct?
If so, sounds like the battery is just draining from prolonged cranking.
Typically when a vehicle doesn't start up after it's been shut down, it can be a number of things. It could be running overly rich, so I'd get leaking injectors, ECT parameters. It wouldn't be a bad idea to check ignition coil output as well.

^^ wouldn't say its the dizzy 100% because mine faulted and it was starting ok, just didn't drive lol.
Can't just narrow it down to one thing.
OP I would highly suggest bringing it in to a shop to get it checked out, I've taken advice too many times on the forums and ended up replacing multiple parts which were in good condition and weren't the cause of the problem. That is especially if you don't know what you are doing.
