Dead S21? Time to LSD?

Whoa it's been a long time. Hey to anyone to knows me.

Okay, here's my problem, I though I'd ask you guys to see what you guys think.

B16A2 engine in a 1997 del Sol VTEC. The stock S21 tranny is kaput. And I mean kaput. JAMMED in reverse. Luckily it finally quick as I was parking her in the garage.

I can't get the tranny out of reverse. It was grinding 3rd all the way home. You think maybe it's a clutch problem?

Second. I'm guessing I'm going to have to replace the S21 and I'm thinking LSD. Yes? NO? If I'm looking for an LSD to replace a S21 is it the same code? Like do I just search for a JDM S21 LSD?

If it was jammed in reverse how did you drive home?

how are the rest of the gears in the tranny did any grind it could be cheaper just to repair the tranny if it was mint other than being stuck in third

the reverse gear most likely seized on the shaft since it only has a bronze bearing it happens often when people do reverse donuts

It quit just as I was parking it in the garage. When I was reversing into the garage. Just as I tapped my mark, it seized.

3rd gear was grinding all the way home.

Okay so I got a price for a replacement S21 (B16A2 tranny) it's $900.

OR I could get a type R tranny for $1,400.

What do you guys think? Go stock or go LSD?
