uh, maybe you live in a fantasy world, but people die all the time because of drinking and driving. there is a reason that organiztions like MADD are in existence.

drinking and driving, no matter how much you've drank, is NEVER a good idea, especailly when you have your g2. this may be one REALLY EXPENSIVE lesson in your life. it sucks, but at least you'll learn your lesson (hopefully).i know if i was in your shoes that i would be callin a cab for now on, which i do anyway.

um, you contradicted yourself, you had a couple of beers then you drove your friends car home. that is drinking and driving. drinking and driving doesn't mean that you have to be drunk.

i wouldn't expect too much sympathy, you did break the law. i may be commin off as an a$$hole, but you have to see that what you did was against the law.

what you said here that stood out is that a drunk driver is not as bad as a bad driver since the drunk is not all together there in their head and therefore less responsible.

your a real moron if you can't get the fact through you thick skull that drinking and driving impairs (THAT MEANS REDUCES) your ability to make quick acurrate decisions, which means you'll be slower to react to stuff that happens in front of you. dude I hope this ticket sticks and you get a suspended license .... that means no more track time for you either since you have to have a valid license to get on the tracks .... plus I never want to share track space with someone thats stupid enough to drink an drive never know what other stupid moves you'd make. your a danger to society. period.

I'm sure everyone can name people hurt by people driving fast and don't know how to control their car. but I bet there are more people that can name friends and family killed by people that had been drinking.

didn't say your friends don't care about you, i asked if they did. the reason i asked is because i know my friends would NEVER ask me to drive their car if i was drinking with them, even if i wasn't drunk. READ THE POSTS CAREFULLY, and don't twist words around. read my post again if needed, if you do, i never said your friends don't care about you.

by not letting your friend drive, ill totally admit that was a great thing for you to do, don't get me wrong. but you shouldn't have stopped there. what should you have done? im glad you asked
1.) take keys away from **** faced friend
2.) slap him around if needed
3.) hide keys so he can't get them
4.) call a cab, take a bus, called unimpared friends to pick you up, or even parents if you live at home.
5.) make sure they get home safe, aswell as yourself.

you weren't FULLY able to drive because as you stated, you were drinking ALCOHOL. i hope you understand what gatherer said about alcohol impairing your senses. one drink can make a difference.

not only should you look out for your friends, you should look out for yourself aswell, they offered to pay your ticket, okay, did they offer to pay the increase in your insurance you may get if your lucky enough not to get your liscence suspened? probably not.how about giving you rides to work, school, a date whenever you wanted, once again probably not.

The point here is not if you were drunk or not, the point is that you still broke the law, which states that you can't have ANY alcohol before driving. So you broke the law, got caught, and now you are complaining?

Do not drink and drive. Or even drink and then drive. It can cost as much as 15k to get off. And thats if you are close to being borderline intoxicated (0.08).
In Canada there is no DUI, you guys watch too much American TV. Its called over 80.

I don't know why the officer didn't pull Crash_Rx7 to the police division where they use a more accurate breathalyser.
Cause in reality he may have been over .1. Anyway....... don't do it.

Good point...now..Crash...your lawyer is prob wrong. With a G2 you need to have a "0" BAC and you blew a "WARN". 1 or 2 drinks? You're a liar...1 or 2 drinks won't cause you to blow a "WARN". You very well could have been over the "legal limit" (.08%) if you blew a "WARN" (maybe you blew a "FAIL" but got a break without realizing it). But you didn't get charged criminally. U got a tkt for the G2 breach of conditions or whatever its called (i got my m1) . But upon conviction its a 30 day licence suspension. Hope ur insurance company rapes you. It's people like you why our insurance is so high.

Your license is not suspended on conviction. Your license is suspended AUTOMATICALLY! Once you go to the station they do 2 tests about 20 minutes apart. If you can't hit .089 or below your f'ked. (They always round down for error purposes). Right after the second failure you license is taken away.
Then you get a court date (not a trial).
My advice on ANY drinking and driving charge..... fight it. Get a lawyer or better yet someone that is connected. And hopefully you'll learn your lesson.

But he said he got a tkt. I think he got it for having more than a zero BAC. He didnt get arrested for drunk driving. Soooo if convicted of the tkt it would be a licence suspension for 30 days. Thats what ive heard for g1/2 m1/2.

From the MTO website...

"What happens if I break one of the conditions of my licence?"

If the police stop you for any reason, the officer checking your licence will see that you are a Level One or Level Two driver. If you are charged with and convicted of breaking any of the conditions, your licence will be suspended for 30 days.

I profess that I don't know how it works for a G2. But someone with a full G License what I mentioned above definitely applies.
