Is this ticket valid?

Tonight on my way home i got a ticket. damn cops...

anyways, it's dumb. it's for only having one wiper. I painted my wipers white. but i ran out of paint before i could do the second one so i just threw the one on.

he gave me a $110 ticket for it b/c it's a 'safety issue' for me.

but when he gave me the ticket, he wasn't wearing his hat. i've hear rumors that in order for them to give you a ticket, they have to be in full uniform, which includes their hat.

Does anyone know if this is true or not? and if so, is there any way of getting out of this ticket?

thanks

I don't think they have to be wearing their hat.

Besides... Undercover cops don't have to wear their hats.

Thats true, I got pulled over and ticketed by actual undercover cops driving a beat up old Beretta and wearing sweat pants and t-shirts. Anyways, just go to court and tell them you have since replaced the missing wiper and the ticket should be dismissed or at least reduced.

on the ticket it says 'no windshield wiper' But i had one on. I didn't have both, but i had one at the time.

I figure it should at least be reduced to half the fine for not having windshield wipers, because i had one....

thanks for the help guys....

Well the problem with that is cars that come with 1 wiper usually have a much bigger one that's placed closer to the middle. if you have 2 wipers and take 1 off, half of your windshield wont be cleaned.

but what do the police know about that? they didnt ask him (i think ) to use the wiper so they can examine, for all they know, he could have modified it in a way to wipe his whole windshield using a different motor or what ever.....

heh heh... actually... heh... uh... it's kinda funny cuz.. heh...

they did ask me to turn it on, and about 5 minutes before that, the nut that screws the wiper onto the bolt, yeah, it came loose, so when i turned it on, nothing happened. the bolt turned and the wiper just sat there.... hmmm... not good.
maybe the cop won't show up...
