Forch

they're pricy but great for large tickets

IMO take a weekend off and just read and learn all you can about the legal system and rep yourself.

I have a 1-0-2 (wins-loss-reduced) record now reping myself when the cop did show up and I presented my case to the judge

Akura 19-Aug-2008 11:43 AM

At my first court appearance everyone's ticket was reduced. Some were more serious but still got it down to 0 points.

Mine is a minor ticket, but i don't mind paying a paralegal to fight it if they can get the ticket off completely. Any experiences with that?

they suck.. all they do is reduce the ticket.
Redline will actually fight to get you off.

Paralegals (most, not all) are a scam. They do what you could have done yourself

Akura 19-Aug-2008 02:12 PM

I'll check out Redline, see what they say about my ticket and let you guys know.

What's the difference between paralegals and redline?
Thanks again everyone

Just visited Redline and the staff was very helpful in explaining the process of how they fight the ticket.

They mentioned I can go into the courthouse or the office where I file the ticket and have a first appearance? Where I can speak to a the prosecutor/judge about my charge in advance of the trial. Can anyone elaborate on this? I might try this.

This is basically for a plea bargin (if you want to lower your ticket)

Insurance companies convictions all the same.. so a plea bargin should only be taken if you are at risk of getting your license suspended (too many points) or if you can't pay the fine.

You're better off trying to work the system if you want to get your ticket tossed. If you just want a reduction, than go to your first appt.

Yea I don't think the Prosecutor will toss the ticket on my first appearance.. Not counting on that..

so basically if I go to the first appearance, they just give me an offer and that's it? I can either accept or reject it before trial.. I can't give an explanation? Last time I went straight to the trial and no first appearance so I'm just inquiring some info. How the procedure works and all

20 km over in a comunity zone is worst the 20km on a hwy doing 20 over on hwy is borderline, u would want that reduced, they'll most likely do it if u pitch a good speech. thats 3 points if u pay it, and depending on ur insurance company, u would rather have no speeding tickets on ur rec. just paying it would be silly, take it to court, if hes there, my friends tell me to reschedule the court date, if hes not than ur good to go. Ticket will be dismissed, cuz it'll be almost another year before u fight it again.

i recently just got my first ticket, last ****ing wednesday i was driving up north on cruise control and i got onto highway 11 and stupid me i seen a cop doing radar right at the start of it and i didnt bother lowering my speed, a little ways up the road there was another and the guy had me doing 116km/h in a 90, i cant really take any time off work, and to fight it i would have to drive 2 1/2 hours away so i was thinking of hiring xcopper because if i dont get rid of this ticket im screwed on insurance my company was just about to lower my rate for being with them 6 months without any problems has anyone had any experience with them?

kingjames1983 25-Aug-2008 07:17 AM

^ well xcopper doesnt exist anymore...
If your screwed because you have a ticket then why speed?
I really dont get the people on these forums that complain about tickets but you just admitted to setting your cruise at 26 over teh speed limit. What stupid $hit is that? now you complain how your screwed. Maybe you should have thought about that before because unless you get completely lucky and teh cops deosn't show, your going to get some sort of ticket and its a minor offence anyways no matter if there is points involved or not.

-DaRyL- 25-Aug-2008 07:40 AM

im not whining you dumb ass all i was asking is if xcopper works my insurance company was gonna drop my rate $100 a month but whatever everyone speeds whether or not they admit it or not and if you say you dont your a complete ****ing liar almost everyone does 120 on the highway i had it set at the speed of traffic and i didnt notice the speed dropped to 90 untill i got pulled over and the cop told me 3 ppl behind me were doing the same speed but i was the unfortunate one to get pulled over

-DaRyL- 25-Aug-2008 07:50 AM

and its not that my insurance will go up as im allowed 1 ticket with no penalty all i wanted was the cheaper rate i never speed other then doing 120 on the highway and thats not all the time cuz of the traffic in toronto lol i guess i could of worded it differently but for you to imply you dont speed at all your a dumbass whether it be speeding to pass someone or just cruising at that speed everyone goes above the limit

reading owns you.... go through my post and re read it.... now that you have notice I do not claim I dont speed! Ooo my its true.
I will reiterate it for you because of you lack of interpreting information that is right in front of you.
I said stop whinning about getting a ticket when you speed. In other words your how old and you know what you are doing so know the counter reaction... ex, a ticket! Instead you post on here and want us to feel sorry for you or something. Grow some nuts and man up!
I speed all the time... about 30 over on the 400 but I also know that I can get a $300 ticket and 2 points and my insurance will go up.
So next time you assume... re read the information in front of you and then post a reply.

ok since your a idiot and dont know what imply means ill give you a hint it means that you act as if you dont speed so if your gonna say something with smart re marks you dumb ass know what your talking about and if you read up i said if you say you dont speed your a complete liar nuff said and i forgot to add the only reason i asked was to find out if ppl had any experience with xcopper because im waiting on a quote from them and see their past experiences isnt that what a forum is for? asking ppl from there experiences so you can learn from other ppls mistakes? i never asked anyone to feel sorry for me i take responsibility for my actions i admitted i was speeding i got caught for it and now im taking it to court, do you have a problem with that?

kingjames1983 25-Aug-2008 10:11 AM

axactly you assumed... because thats always the smart thing to do!
Your the idiot who admits speeding but thinks because he wants a clean record that justifies getting the ticket dropped. Thats brilliant. So from now on if I dont like something in life I am just going to find someone to reverse it so I dont have to be accountable for my actions.

-DaRyL- 25-Aug-2008 10:16 AM

im not being unaccountable thats how the world works what do you think xcopper is for thats like saying how oj simpson killed his wife but he got a lawyer and got off with it, things happen buddy your over reacting over stupid **** man take a chill pill, ppl use xcopper all the time im not saying its justified but whatever ill pay to have a clean record cuz in the end its cheaper

Please try to keep to the topic at hand. X-copper is out of business now. I've decided to go with Redline for this ticket. After doign some research I'm confident they'll do whatever it takes to fight my ticket. But then again this is my first time dealing with them so I'll have to be cautious about it. Will post review once everything is taken care of.

The agent I dealth with is on vacation and by the time he gets back my 15 days would have expired. The receptionist said there are procedures they take that the general public doesn't know about my ticket if the 15 days expires.

kingjames1983 27-Aug-2008 11:39 AM

^ wow congrats to your post... 2 days after it happened! want a cookie for your late discovery comlumbo?

Akura 27-Aug-2008 01:51 PM

This is just a thread to share my experience and perhaps help anyone who gets a ticket in the future find answers to any questions they may have. Arguing in this thread doesn't really get anywhere

Also, some people have other more important things to do than to come on this board every day.. than again that's just some people.
