omg omg need help!!!!!!!!

NOTE: PLEASE KEEP UR SMART *** COMMENTS TO URSELF. JUST TELL ME HOW CAN I AVOID THIS TICKET.

okay i know my muffler is loud, but i had it on for a year and drove behind, in front, beside of the cop many many times. never once got ticket for it.

today i was coming back from school at around 4pm, phuk should have taken taunton, but no i decided to go HW2. So i was driving doing 40-50 km/h around 2-2.5rpm it was busy rush hour, i saw opp car turning right from hickory street (sp). now i am stoped at brock st and hw2 red lights, and cop is still trying to turn right. so finaly cop turned right and whole bunch of cars between me and that cop turned right on brock st, and now cop is behind me and light turned green. there were couple cars in front of me and i was doing 20-25 km/h going through downtown area where sand bar is.

as soon as i pass pizza nova cop decided to pull me over, so basically he drove behind me for maximum of 5 seconds. he came up to my car asked me for license and registration the usual bull****, i asked him why did i get pulled over and he said my mnuffler is too loud and its smoking. i said smoking that impossible cus i know my muffler doesnt smoke, i got out of my car and ask him to show me where is the smoke, there was no smoke. then i said it is prety cold today and if u look around every car is smoking, because when hot exahust gas makes contact with cold air out side u see smoke, then cop was like no it smokes when u press gass (WTF). then he change the topic and pointed that my muffler is shaky i was like car is still runing you know. then he told me to go sit in the car, after 5 mins he came back with ticket, and said "i dont have any problem with new loud cars with v8" then i said why cus they are stock and my car is moded, he said "yes". and i then i said "oh so this is a Stereotypical ticket you are giving me cus i have moded car" he said "no, i am giving u this ticket cus you dont have a proper muffler" and then he start reading me the rules and my options, then i told him "this is not my first time getting the ticket, just give me the ticket and let me go".

and he gave me the ticket and he left.

so this is what my ticket says:

Did commit the offence of:
Improper muffler motor vehicle

Contrary to:
Highway traffic act
Sect: 75(ior1)

Set fine of:
$85

Total Payable:
$110

so please help me and tell me what can i do to get reed of this ticket without paying a single cent, cus i know this is a stupid ticket and i am pissed.

i will bring the ticket to the meet for further assistence if anyone can help me.

thx guys

thx for reading

I wonder if you can get a test done to show your DB rating (loudness)?

what a ***......i hate cops like that

the only info i can give you is to go to appeal the ticket (in person) dont use a ticket fighting company (u'll better ur chances of them droping the ticket)

state ur case and tell them how the cop replied to the question about moded cars

as far as the traffic act itself:

ne mod to ur car is technically illegal

but try to appeal the ticket ne way

PS. tell them ur a student (it helps)

Dude, I had the same ticket almost two yrs ago for having a loud muffler...
Fine $110...here in sauga/sq. one...
Frckn cops these days got nothing better else to do giving tickets for mod cars...
What I did is went to court, pleaded guilty to the judge with a receipt stating that I replaced my muffler for $150...
I end up just paying $15 for the ticket from $110...
Good luck man.

yeah any exhaust louder than stock you can get a ticket for.. if you put a resignator in and fight it you could get off.. or do what JLM SIR said.. either way (unless you fight it and cop does not show) you will have to pay something.

Up until now you've just been lucky that any cops that may have seen you were otherwise occupied.

You know that your muffler is loud? Then you know how to fix your problem.

The only question that remains is this - are you smart enough to make that fix, or will you continue the proverbial beating of your head against that brick enforcement wall.

Man, that sucks! I've had my muffler for almost 8 years and never been pulled over. I guess it was just my luck. If worse comes to worse all you have to do is go to court and pay the ticket. After all it's only $110.00. If not, you could change it and bring proof that you have done so. In that case they might reduce the fine, but either way you look at it you'll have to pay something.

Good luck man!

there is no way you can win.

y?

read the info:

Noise, smoke, bells and horns

Muffler

75. (1) Every motor vehicle or motor assisted bicycle shall be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise and excessive smoke, and no person shall use a muffler cut-out, straight exhaust, gutted muffler, hollywood muffler, by-pass or similar device upon a motor vehicle or motor assisted bicycle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 75 (1).

Unnecessary noise

(4) A person having the control or charge of a motor vehicle shall not sound any bell, horn or other signalling device so as to make an unreasonable noise, and a driver of any motor vehicle shall not permit any unreasonable amount of smoke to escape from the motor vehicle, nor shall the driver at any time cause the motor vehicle to make any unnecessary noise, but this subsection does not apply to a motor vehicle of a municipal fire department while proceeding to a fire or answering a fire alarm call. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 75 (4).

now the technical loop hole to normally win an exhaust ticket is to ask them what is considered unnecessary noise because there is no set rules saying what is tolerable and not tolerable. so what the officer found out to be not tolerable can easily be tolerable anywhere else.

but however you will get screwed over because you dont have a resonator and i believe you said you dont have a cat either.

so pay up sucka.

i know where you got your ticket and the sound does get echoed. But, if your car is the one im thinking of (you go to DC right?) i have to say your car is pretty damn loud.

my advice is change the muffler, bring the receipt to court saying you took care of the problem, maybe even a picture to prove it. thats what a friend of mine did.

good, glad you got a ticket you ******...you knew it was loud and improper, evidently you have been given the ticket before then i told him "this is not my first time getting the ticket, just give me the ticket and let me go". you were being a smartass with the officer so you threw out any option of the officer letting you off with a warning...rightfully issued ticket for your attitude and improper muffler

and can anybody answer me why in the hell do you want a loud *** muffler in the first place?

I don't see how that can screw him over unless the officer pointed it out when he was pulled over or made notes of it to be used as a defense later on. I'm pretty sure the officer would have said something if he saw that there was no resonator or cat on the car.

If you don't want to pay the ticket then you should fight it. Try to find a loop hole like Jay said.

You have nothing to lose insurance-wise since it's not a moving violation.

A muffler ticket is not that big of a deal.
