Most companies are trying ot sell thier book of auto business to other companies as they are losing to much money in auto insurance - the big companies, like State Farm, have a large business in property insurance, commercial insurance and liability insurance so their profits help feed the loses of the auto sector .... As long as Ontario Government makes insurance the law, their wil be companies selling it .... we need to educate people on how insurance works and how certain things (like large loss and insurance fraud) effect the every day person ....and their premium

Forgive me if I dont shed a tear for your 1 mil/yr losses. But most people have a negitive mindset against insurance companys for a good reason. I'm willing to bet insurance fraud is partly caused by the mistreatment of policy holders.

That doesn't make fraud right.

Riiight ... cause all the people who work at these companies only care about ripping you off .... How where you mistreated? .....And don't worry about our $1 million loss, you'll pay for it next year

I hear a lot of people with modified cars whine about how their rims got stolen and insurance won't pay for it or how their car got into an accident and isnurance won't pay for that bodykit to be fixed .... If people would only read their policies before they have a claim, they would realize what is covered and what isn't ....

I never said I was mistreated and I never said fraud was right. But I've learned to expect how insurance companys always have their assumptions like if I'm in a Civic, I'm a high risk driver.

We might pay for it next year, or maybe you'll loose another million.

if these insurance company are lossing so much money... despite stealing so much from everyone... maybe something should be done to help them run more econimically.... or maybe all those ceo's shouldn't be making millions a year to look fat and sit in a chair and driving there ferrari's at the suimmer house in italy...

As long as I still get a paycheque, I could care less ...... Hell, I don't even work in auto insurance anymore....

For the comment on making auto insurance profitable, if you can find a way where thousands have failed, by all means be my guest .... Auto insurance is just a red line industry, the only solution is basically charge people what their vehicle is worth, and even then they'd still lose money ..... It will always be like that .....

True, but if you think road rage is bad now, wait until you get hit by someone that doesn't stop because they don't want to pay for your car .... We'd have people pulling out guns left and right ....

the only way you can really win again insurance companies is to not drive... but thats a depressing image... or get a bike... then you got a clean record

I don't think we'll ever win against insurance companies ... being a 24 year old male with countless tickets, a 2003 Eclipse GT I pay $281 a month .... I need the insurance under my name because I need to get an insurance history .... Although I feel the pain of many who post here, I also see what my premiums pay for ....

Well, if thats the case, it either has to be because of the person's record or where they live, cause I know people who pay around $90-$100 a most a month for a car like that ...

I hear all this complaining about insurance and insurance rates, and I wonder how I am so lucky. I just got a notice that my insurance is dropping $5.22 a month. I am now paying $91 per month. I know being the age that I am, and living in Durham region helps, but that much??
