Insurance ????
Anyone between the ages of 22-25 years old?
Need to Know: (please stick to topic please, it is important)
- Are you first person insrured?
- What Year vehicle and model?
I am thinking of getting a Civic 1989 h/b, I have to pay $7,000 - $8,000 a year. Is this true?

OK here goes
1989 Ford Probe GT
1995 Civic CX
I pay $89.00/month for full coverage on the Civic with $300 deductables.
I pay $104/month for the Probe with no collision coverage and finally $15 for life insurance.
So my grand total is $207/month for 2 cars plus life insurance.
I Love it

How old are you guys? I am guessing you are in the age group that I've mentioned...
Also... How many years have is your liscense?
I really have to talk to my insurance...
Does location make a difference? I lived in Scarborough

I'm only 22 and have had my license for 6 years now. I receive discount for multi car and that's about it. The only thing about living at home is that I'm under my parents umbrella(liability) so when I move out my insurance might jump $10/month.
I'm going to talk with a broker and see if I can find anything cheaper.

Damn... all your prices are amazing...
I have been driving for 3 years full G, I have gotten into on accident, it only went up a bit. I have aways paid $300+/ month before accident, the insurance only went up $50+ after accident. But adding another car the total is over $11,000, for a 1989 civic!!! That's Fookin' crazy...

I have another friend that drives a Prelude and was paying $7,000+ first driver... now he is paying $5,000+ as 2nd driver. I figure my insurance is right.
How did you guys get insurance so cheap? Is it where you live? What company? Mine right now is ING direct, the company changes all the time.

I've always thought that if you keep changing insurance it looks bad on you and if you were to stay with one company it might be lower after your an existing customer for many years.

Joker: yes... it does go down
Legacy73: I heard what your saying brother...but I am not the person that is changing insurance company. The company goes brankrupt or sold it to someone else and that is how it keeps changing. I am still with the same broker for many years, so have my parents.
I really have to call him sometimes this week and see what he can do for me.
Anyone know anything about part-time driver (not sure about the title)
Thanks guys

However I'm not supposed to use my civic as a daily driver, if something were to happen on the way to work and they found out, I'm sure they would deny coverage!
Just as a comparison, I know a female getting a 2003 Coupe, full insurance, with accident paying roughly $350/month.

I'm 21 and I live in K-W. I have my G and have had 0 accidents (which were my fault) and 0 tickets
I'm with State Farm too. As soon as I move out I'm changing insurance companies. I was not impressed by how they handled my accident in Sept. but thats another topic...

I was thinking about a 1989 civic something around $1,000, I don't care if it gets lots in an accident (if it is my fault) - with that car I am paying $7,000 for a second car. Adding to the first car, I am way over $11,000 a year.
I was wondering if I get the weekend driver insurance and someone slams into me and they want to claim insurance, is the insurance company still going to pay for the car - assuming I drove to work and it is not the weekend.
I can afford the car but not the insurance...damn....

That's insane. I am 24 driving a 2001 LX coupe. I have had my G2/G for nearly 8 years now. I am currently paying 300 a month. I have an at fault accident and speeding ticket on my record right now. The policy isn't under my name but even if it was it would only be 30 dollars more a month. I'd start checking around and see about a different insurance company.

IgRep: so...I am not crazy...you too... I have no speeding tickets thou. Yeah, my insurance did go up $50 or so... but the second car is super expensive even thou it is more then 10 yrs old.
I need the car right now...damn insurance company.
