Your requirements are somewhat contradictory. For a suspension setup to handle well, it can't be soft, although it can't be too hard either. In fact cars are generally tuned by frequency, and the general rule of thumb is 1.9-2.2Hz per 1 tonne. That is anything but comfortable, and a far ways from stock.

By going with a well made coilover, you can assure your valving is proper, thus vastly improving the feel, and comfort of even a stiff suspension setup, but it will not make it ride like stock.

So what is more important to you, comfort or performance? Because you can't have both.

yeah you dont need to change them. and 100-150 is on the cheap side. it's not hard, you should do it in your driveway.

you more than likely will have to replace the lca bushings...any shop can order them from their parts supplier or u can goto honda or a parts place that buys from altrom or beck arnley and they can get them

no no no.

air ride.

not horribly expensive, and if installed right, is EXTREMELY reliable.....the setup is only as good as the install....

i used altered altitude customs (markham) (www.airassisted.com)

they do KILLER work, wicked prices, and they dont carry junk parts.

you can ride it as high as you want, as low as you want, and air bag over struts are 9 way dampening adjustable.

air ride ftw.

so if air ride is the ultimate suspension why arn't more people running it again?????
I think he is looking for something to perform not just for looks. A nice spring with a good spring rate matched up with a decent set of struts should run you less than 1500 installed I am thinking with max figures. I would get with Koni yellows and some H & R race with a camber kit or the H & R sports for no camber although they dont drop it as much and are a bit less bouncy!

I would like to hook up coilovers

Guys,

Just one question . Please make me understand.

I have a set of coilovers with me. I need to know can I hook them up in my 92 civic without any other extras?

Will I have any other after effects by doing this on the long run . I do not plan on selling My car and even If I did will not want another to have a problem due to this.

I only drive abouth 20 - 30 kms a day . Do not even have to take the highway to get to work.

And also do you think I can do this change at home in my garage or will I need some special tools in order to do this. Guys I would really appreciate it if some one could give me detailed responce.

Have a great day guys !

Sharaj

They are a good mix but please do yourself a favour....
DON"T BUY THEM OFF EBAY!!!!!!
Not only is there shipping charges, brokerage fees which are a ***** and very costly, but you also dont know if you arre getting knockoffs until it is too late.

Buy from a local (in Canada hopefully Ontario) and check to see if they are an authorized Koni dealer.... that will weed out fakes! That isn't a good deal when you work out the details.
I have learned from experience with this stuff on ebay!

they'll supply bolts... and charge you for them probably with there markup
either way your complaining about the price of the bolts but you buying pretty much useless LCA's unless you have a gsr or sir swaybar. Other than that they are just bling bling on the bottom of your car!

Apparently they come off the same conveyor belt many other brand names come off from.

I have them, type I

Loving them.

Stiff Ride, and easily adjustable.

No complaints.

KYB (Kayaba) is the largest world shock absober manufacturer. Anything from them or Koni gets my vote. Ride height adjustability is overrated, unless you corner weight your car. To raise the car in winter and drop it in summer is not that practical.

Question Adjusting Super Street

Quick question... I have Tien Super Street coilovers, which way do I turn to adjust the dampning. Is it clockwise or counter clockwise to stiffen.
