can't go lower... please help me
Hey guys, so here is my problem and i am really hoping that you guys can help me out.
I have a '00 Si swapped sitting on Tein Basics. I have had this set up now for about a year. Last year I was rolling on 205 40 16 tires and now i have changed rims and stayed with a 16" but bumped up my tire size. 205 45 16. Now the problem is: I had such a nice stance lastyear on the 40's but now i cannot go anylower than being level with the fender. I am hitting and scraping my inner splash guard or whatever the hell it is on the front. What can i do guys? it looks nice but just not as low as i would like.....
thank you again

^^Try what he said first. Did it to mine and hardly rubs at all now. You can search for DIY's on the net for doing this at home, or find a shop that can do it for you. It usually doesn't cost too much from what I have heard.
And DON'T adjust your camber just to make the tires fit in the fenders. That will result in unsafe handling, abnormal and premature tire wear.
Even though big negative camber looks cool (to some people), it has no benefit, what so ever.

I'm pretty sure it rubs on the inside. I had that yesterday lol. Since the car is low and tires are big, when fully turned it doesn't just rub on the top, I as rubbing the fender liner with actual thread part of the tire when fully locked. Smaller tires fixed the problem.
OP I don't think you can do much really. Other than keep at same height or reduce side wall height.

yes this is what i was thinking as well. i guess for this season i will stay with the 45's but next i'll go back to a 40.
the part i just don;t understand is; weather i have 14 inch rims or 18 inch rims, tucking is tucking. so if i see buddy with 15's with a 50 series tire he is tucked approx an inch or so. the fact of the matter is, he is tucked and the tire size has changed but the geometry of the inner fender has not. how can these guys not have problems but a 16 with a 45 does....

sorry, I was under the assumption that they were rubbing on the inside. So yes, if they are rubbing on the inside, spacers will help. If they are rubbing on the outside, get different offset rims.

Depending on you're offset, spacers could help or make it worse...
Mine did this also, I had to cut away a few parts of the inner fender liner....no big deal. lol
It's the outer diameter and width of the tire that matters. A taller wider tire will rub more.
