I owned a kawa 250, and that was a great starters bike. Honestly, a 600cc 2000+ is really not the greatest starter. Remember that the newer 600 superbikes have as much, if not close to, the same power as the older r1's. You over throttle and drop the clutch or bump throttle with a 250; the bike will be more forgiving. If you make the same beginner mistakes on a superbike your falling off that bike.
But then again, only you know yourself, and only you can define what you can handle.

ive been riding bikes for a few yrs family members have them(r1,1300cchayabusa,dirtbikes)stuff like that,just never had the chance to buy my own.but yea i was thinking of getting a 600,750 first anyways just to get use to riding a bike all the time.insurance is going to be the killer
