it was a 3.2 second exposure, so any movement is blurred and if an object moves it will show whatever's in the back ground

So you set teh cameras shutter to stay open for 3.2 seconds?
I gotta see if my new camera can do that.

yea set the exposure time and apeture to the correct setting for the exposure...

thats a really nice picture. i just wish i had a decent digital camera. mine is 2 mega pixels and to show how old it is, that's when 2 mega pixels were just around.

On cheaper on point and shoot cameras, you would have to manipulate the conditions until you get results you want. The "night" feature will usually give longer exposure times.

On my camera, there is a full manual mode that allows me to amongst other things, set the length of the exposure.

thanks...i knew i should have bought semi manual camera but sometimes this point and shoot one's does the job

I like the pic! few second exposures give some really cool effects. A few years a go i made a ghost picture of my old dog. It was really neat, i called her and she walked directly down the side walk towards the camera. But in the final photo there was no dog! btw does your electrical connections in the background meet safety standards???
