That driving was a piece of art. Got too love those old Audi Rally Cars, had something like 600hp before they were banned. The driver pumping the accelerator I assume was to keep the turbo spooled (had terrible lag in those days) but I thought the Audi's had a system to keep it spool (raw fuel injected into the turbo). Perhaps that video was before it was installed.
Tha was still unfrigginbelievable, on such narrow roads too!

he was reving the engine up in order for him to enter and exit corner's without loosing power.

Turbo=Power.
The Audi engineers actually devised a system that made that some of the footwork unecessary. They stuck a fuel injector right at the exhaust turbine. When the driver's foot was off the pedal, the injector would spray raw fuel into the hot turbine housing to keep it spool. Sort of like a jet engine. With 6 foot flames out the side.
