Texting While Driving: How Dangerous is it?

I've only "txt-ed" while driving once and already I figured out how dangerous it it. Since then, I've never texted while driving again. But I guess there will always be people that think its Ok.

People that do that well driving are stupid and should lose there licence for some time, and get a nice fat ticket, maybe that will teach you something, maybe it won't.

ah ahahah....good find!

Texting/non-hands free cellular phone = $400 fine and 2 points (i think)

Blowing slightly over a blood alcohol level of 0.08 = 12 month drivers license suspension, a fine of up to $5000 and an insurance increase of up to %500 or no insurance at all.

hmmmmm....does that sound right?

ima go put on some make-up, learn to play sedoku and stare at the speedometer on the way to work....

I actually got out of the habit of texting while driving. What id do is when i get a text is just look at who sent it. And then if I come to a light ill read it but I usually don't reply. In return I keep forgetting to reply to some texts. Lol. But thats insane though, how much more it lose your reaction time.

T9 is alriiiiight, for short messages

blackberry and touchscreen phones are way to hard, i've had both.

Just text at a light, so much easier and safer (imagine spending alot of money on your car and then texting some hoe and crashing...worth it?)

if i absolutely HAVE to text ill poke my phone one letter at a time and write the big words when i come to a red light

if im on the roads itll take me roughly 5 minutes to text "im driving"

if im on the highway i just dont bother

but the good thing is that i have a holder for my phone so i dont really need to look down

Good to watch a vid like that, it's easy to forget the dangers, sometimes.
Reminders always help.

So true Sharona.

I always txt/check emails and drive. I've had some really close calls too. Almost rear ended several cars and almost veered into the curb on numerous occasions.

But I just can't stop doing it.

That vid really shows how reaction time is thrown out the window when you're texting and driving.

though it is hard to not answer the phone when someone calls. Then they just want to talk about nothing....result = "I'm driving" *click*

i also do this way more often than i would like to.. highways included, but its been getting better cause it really is dumb, after you're done you realize that you literally dont remember where you were just driving. its like you just woke up a block later..
