yea, but take this into consideration, the gtr-is twin turbo, awd and has those new CVT type trannies. thats an ingredient that will kill any car defects like weight vs hp, flywheel hp and so on, that 350 may be 640 fly wheel hp and about 520 whp, and that is only rwd, imagine the tire slipping on that.

keep in mind the new evo's and sti's are single turbo meaning they have lag, with only 300 flywheel hp, they come 13 sec 1/4mile car from factory, a little tuning and bolt on's and those things are ripping 11 sec easily, so imagin, a two small twin turbo sports car with awd and a contiuing no lag tranny system with almost no turbo lag, is like the bugatti veyron technology or ingredients that essentially remove any loss of power with conventional cars, so now we get to realise what real 450 hp feels like, instead of a 640 hp car that is only actually producing 495 whp or 520 whp.

You get what i mean, just like newer technology gets better the new hp does too, now the new gen sports cars are building sports cars that loose less of what they already have i.e instead of building sports cars that have 700 hp and all, they are working on reliable 500hp cars with technology that can put most, if not all of the 500hp to the ground, i.e a 08 gtr waisting a 03 640hp rated 350Z with rwd and low traction compared to the awd.

its like mugen engines, they don't have any more hp then gsr engines, but what they do is balance the engine so it easily produces more, its all about balance.

^ good post

the GTR tranny is a killer in all reviews. shifting time of a few milliseconds only > manual shifting.

^^ thanks,

yup, those new trannies are baller, nissan was known for weak trannies, but not anymore. I'm happy that they worked the kinks out, now nissan has strong performance oriented engines as well as trannies, lets just hope they last as long the known bulletproof quality of their engines.

the VQ35DE has been a huge success but they had issues with the 2.5 4cy motor (altima debacle). ive had my nissan for a little over two years now and have no complains...top notch performance. the cvt is a thrill to drive.
