Bought a Gem 1991 Civic Si
So I ended up buying another 1991 civic si.
To me, there just wasnt anything else on the market worth buying
at this price point..
Gave her a wash today and took a few pics.
This is the first time I ever drove a stock civic ef.
The car is in amazing condition ! 105,000 kms, all original !
The car was owned by Bill Gardiner of Motoring TV on TSN.
Already installed the center console and shift ****.
I had a bunch of maintenance work done to it. Everything was original, from the fuel filter, to the timing belt and water pump !
- replaced timing belt + water pump
- drained engine block and radiator, added new Honda type 2 Coolant
- new thermostat
- new alternator belt
- new fuel filter
- flushed old engine oil using Amsoil engine flush
- Changed engine oil and filter used Amsoil 10w40
- changed original distributor cap and rotor (did myself)
- 4 new spark plugs (did myself)
- replaced original spark plug wires with new NGK Blue wires (did myself)
- replaced original air filter (did myself)
- did emission smog test and passed with flying colors.
- car didnt need anything for safety certification.

Pretty nice for a 20 year old car. I always liked the EFs for their simplicity. Slap a set of simple OEM Honda/Acura wheels on it and thats it.
I dont know if I could ever drive an older car like that. Not that I dont like it, but I couldnt deal with the lack of options, sound deadening, etc. Driving a new car has spoiled me.

Ive also read on another forum that this was going to be a winter beater. Why not keep this one prestine like the REX and buy a CRV or an EK to drive in the winter? Seems like kind of a waste to winter drive it.

Lol @ options. I hate newer cars. I occasionally drive 97 prelude, fully loaded and I hate it. I get into my DA and I feel awesome haha.
Clean Ef, if you need any parts, my bud just crashed his and he's parting it out. Interior is spotless.
GL with the car, and keep rockin the old school.
