my speedometer no worky

ever since i out a new interior and new motor in my car, i have had no speedometer. I figured it was just the VSS so i switched that with 4 others and it still doesnt work. The wiring for the dash and the clustter came out of my parts car and was working beforehand.
the only think the speedo has done is jumped around one day when i was reving the car upo in neutral in my driveway... weird. anyways, help me out and u will win a cookie:thumbup:

maybe the chip behind the speedo fried? :shrugs: my speedo wasn't acting the same way until i replaced the chip behind it then it was back to normal. i don't think this would be your problem but it's worth a try.

lol^

Couldn your speedo cable come unattached from cluster or speed senosr in the tranny?

punkindrublic 14-Oct-2005 11:56 AM

could be the bright green paint colour on the exterior blinding you slightly so while the speedo is actually moving you can't tell? cause your so blinded... and that one day it sorta moved was probably at night where the brightness may not have been at full power?

ya... my cars busted now too

lol....my g/f's car had the same problem. I changed the VSS for a known good one but it turned out to be the cluster.

imported_kIeRaN 15-Oct-2005 04:56 PM

haha, u weirdos, anyways, it ended up being a bad connection with the connector on the VSS, i guess it got dirty so i sprayed some battery contact cleaner on it and problem solved.
