wireing subs

Ok so i just got a new jbl and i dont want to blow it like the other 3 subs i had. so i want to know best way to wire it correctly for proper ohms. heres the specs

sub
12" 1200W peak subwoofer
Dual Voice coil design (dual 2-ohm, pre-wired as a 4-ohm sub)
Power Handling, RMS: 300 Watts
Power Handling, Peak: 1200 Watts

my amp
Kenwood MONO bass amplifier
Rated power (4 ohm, 20 ~ 200 Hz, 0.5% THD) @ 14,4V : 500W RMS
Rated power (2 ohm, 100Hz, 0,9% THD) @ 14,4V : 900W RMS
Rated power (1 ohm, 100Hz, 1,0% THD) @ 14,4V : 900W RMS
Maximum output power @ 14,4V : 1800W
Aluminium Die-cast heat-sink with Aluminium dress-plate
Power MOSFET Switching Power Supply
1 ohm load capability

leave it at 4ohm. set the gain with a DMM to see around 34v. this is just a "playing it safe" way of setting the gain.
