Vss?

Vss?
My engine light always comes on while I'm decelerating, usually when it drops below 2000 rpm. I took a look at the ecu code and it's saying there's a problem with the VSS. As far as I know my car doesn't have one, because it runs on a cable. My speedometer is working fine and is accurate. Any ideas?

bro, does your speedo work? if not replace the cable and/or ensure that is properly seated in the tranny and in the gauge cluster. So if ur speedo dont work you are gonna get the code 17 "VSS"
if ur speedo works and u still have that code, reset the ECU (pull the 15amp fuse under the hood, wait 10min etc.) and if you still get the code try a known workin cluster cuz there may be a faulty connection in yours.

Alright I'll reset the ecu
I think I might know what the cause might be...
Yes my speedometer works just fine but my whole dash including the cluster I swapped from a 90 crx, and my car is an 88, maybe something's messed up.
