What doesn't fit right?

Are speakers too deep to fit in stock mounting cup? (the plastic piece)

Or too wide?

spacers..
attach them to the door first, then attach speaker to the spacers..

.5" mdf should do the trick nicely..
.75" if they're pretty deep speakers..

The speakers are in fact to deep to fit in... I know I can cut that plastic piece that's blocking it.

I have a lot of spacers.. Should I use them instead?

wood's better than plastic, but ya, if you have spacers go ahead and use what ya got..
just make sure you clear the window when it's down and all should be good..

I made spacer before for some 5 1/4 in my doors.

Check out using some washer between the plastic moulding and the speaker if you dont wana make a new one out of wood.

Also make siure, if you take out the stock plastic cup, that you make a baking on the new spacer, as water and debris get in the door and can enter the voice coil of the speaker and ruin it.

Okay I played around with the spacers but now the stock grill cover won't go on.. It looks ghetto if I leave it without it... Criminals will also love it...

Other plan is to take out the stock plastic cup,... I'm afraid though if I do that, then water and debris might get in.. If I did put some sort of protector then it interfers with the window going down... Is there a way I can do anything to the speaker it self? Like cover the back up with something.

Put some plastic ont he speaker like a half moon shape, so only the top part of the speaker is covered, sorta like the stock cup look.
