slim ps2 in car

hey does anyone here run a ps2 SLIM in their car? had any problems in the summer with overheating? also, did you just buy an AC adapter and hook it up to the cigarette plug? or splice it into the electricals somewhere? one is easier, the other looks cleaner...

I run a slim PS2 in my car, never really had an overheating problem myself but I hear that the slim ones are terrible for that. I got a 200W power inverter and spliced the positive and negative wire going to the auxilary 12V plug under my dash, and added the power inverter there. That way the inverter shuts off when the ignition is off as does the PS2, snd then you shouldn't run into problems with over heating. Hope this helps.

There is a cigarette adapter, but basically it is just a very small version of a power inverter, and I wasn't a big fan of having everybody see this thing sticking out of my dash. It will work though. Just depends on the look you are going for.

having a gaming system in your car sounds cool but in the end its totally useless unless your a security guard... but yeah just get one of the cigarette lighter thing cut the plug off and wire it into the system.

well I want it cuz ther eare lots of times when I do need it haha, like last week, for example, I was waitin for my girl at school, 30 minutes, I watched an episode of the Colbert Report on my double din, but I wanted to play a game or something lol since I'd already seen that episode...

If i get the ps2 car adapter, it's ok if i just cut off the cigarette tip, and splice that into the aux wiring? I'm not sure where i'm gonna tap the power from just yet...i'm gonna look at the fusebox under the steering wheel area and see if i can just plug something in there...

does anyone know where I can get a ps2 slim car(cigarette) adapter? I've been checking online, and Ebay is the only place i found located in USA or Canada. I checked best buy and futureshop's website, but no luck, I was at a local wal-mart yesterday but they did not have any. should I just keep going from store to store? I havent checked eb games yet....but if someone has one and can tell me where they bought theirs, it'd make my search a bit easier haha
