radio reception problems

I've replaced my stock HU with a Kenwood HU which I pulled out of my old Si. The AM reception was fine on my old Si however on the SiR and can't get any AM stations. FM stations are OK. Does anyone know a fix for this? Are there such things as signal amplifiers?

Did you stock stereo get AM stations? And another question, what the hell are you doing listening to AM radio?

It did work with the stock stereo. I want to be able to listen to sports broadcasts but they're all on AM stations

If it worked with your stock stereo, it could be an antenna connection problem, or maybe your Kenwood crapped out. Personally, if you had a CD player in your SiR (which you most likely did since they come pretty loaded), why did you change the head unit to something older than the car (since you said it came out of your other car). IMO, newer is always better, and stock is actually pretty decent quality nowadays. OEMs have mostly realized that systems sell, hence the Rockford Fosgate in the Sentra SE-R, the system in the MP3, Bose in Lexus, Harmann Kardon in M-B, Mach 460 in Fords, etc. Hondas aren't too too bad unless you want kickin bass.
