power door lock problems!!!
Hey All,
I have a 97 EX (4dr) which came with Pwr Dr locks.
I have it hooked up through my security system, this way whenever i turn on my car and apply the break the doors automatically lock and when I turn off my car the doors automatically unlocked.
Now as I was getting out of my car today I noticed that the door was still locked.
To put a long story short, I'm able to lock and unlock it manually the the "pull tab" located behind me but can not unlock/lock with the power door lock switch which locks/unlocks everthing else.
This problem happens with my alarm as well, I cannot lock or unklock the drivers side door but it will for all the other doors no problem.
what can be the problem ???
Thanks in advance.

I have a 92 Civic 4dr, and just the other day, my power locks stopped working. At first I thought it was the fuse, but I changed it and it's still not working. when I press the switch i hear the sound but nothing happens. maybe the locking arm slipped out? anyone have suggestions?

Take the door panel off and see if the clip that holds the motor to the lock is broken, or if it came off.
I used to have a pic of what this little plastic peice looks like....I'll see if I can find it.

that pic is out of of Ford or Gm....can't remember.
brain is tired to remeber where it is located in the Civic door.
Me thinks it's where the door handle is (inside the door), or near the lock rod that conects to the door handle mechanisim. Should be a little white clip.
The door motor still makes a noise, right? If yes, it's probably the clip.

hmm I had this problem when I had my impreza.. if the motor still works (actuator) than it could be a little screw that holds a clip attached to a rod that pulls on the lock?? not 100% sure.. if Subaru is the same.. but if it's a similar problem, just use thread lock on the screw to tighten it back up

sketch, check to see of the clip came out or broke. If its still conected, it might mean the motor is just about burned out.......(new motor time)

how much would something like that cost???
i didn't see a clip when i opened it up .... i looked all a long the rod and did not see anything connected to it ...... i think i'll try taking another look..... would you suggest that it is near the mirror or near the back where you pull the rod manually ??
thanks alan !

sorry i didn't show up alan, I had an assignment to finish the night before and was to burnt out,.
I checked the door again and all the clips were in place, I followed some wires that led to the latch. do each of the doors have their own motors ??? and how much do one of those cost to replace??
thanks,
