I am interested in knowing some things I could do to protect my car more than just a basic alarm setup?

sensors... lotsa sensors... prox, shock, level, resonance, whatever... pre entry detection is they key... after he's in, the damage is done. Point is to deter the thief before he even touches the car. Prox is my favourite, then resonance A deafener interior siren is good, and a backup battery for the exterior siren. Install is key!!!!!

Any loud *** siren mounted under the dash will blow their ears out Cuz they gotta get under the dash to hotwire that beeyatch, so the siren will be right in their face *blaaaaast* LOL So just like running twin sirens except on is mounted in the thiefs face

hehehe when I get around building it (I have the schematics done) if a guy breaks into my car my car is going force the dude to contract all his muscules at the same time ...which is very very painful ....now to find a test subject for the prototype ...

FuriousRex, yes, you most likely can... use the current siren output to drive a relay which will in turn switch dual sirens. Alan (PULOVR) has posted schematics of this a few weeks ago, if you look through some past posts in this forum you will find it. The only reason to use a relay is to ensure you don't fry the alarm from drawing too much current, that's all.

scroll down to the bottom furiousrex...

Most of the time when thief even sences that red light flickering they will leave your car alone on the spot or come back the next day prepared to disarm it. A siren under the dash will put the guys ears out but he'll probably get frustrated and find it and rip it to shreds. They have a special device which I can't remember the name of, it's quite small in size and you place it under your dash and literally if this device goes off and near your ear drums it will disable your hearing for the rest in your life, all it takes is around 4-6 seconds and you can hook up 3 or 4 of them. Indeed what Bruno said get all those sensors going, a siren under the dash or that device im talking about, *note*i am going to find the name of it. A backup siren hooked up to a battery in the back and all this hooked up to a pager. I think you'll be safe afterwards. If it becomes continuous then tint your windows, disarm your alarm and put blankets all over your seats and throw in a few guard dogs, I guarantee they won't come back again
