Question is my deck dead?

one day deck was running fine.

then the next day it just didnt turned on. it has happened to me before but it was just a loose wire.

this afternoon, i pulled the deck out, no loose wire and theres power going to the harness but the deck still doesnt turn on.

deck is an old pioneer about 4.5 yrs old.

is this old age that killed it?

i didnt see any blown fuses or whatever.

i have a cd inside, how can i take it out?

TIA.

So eric your getting +12v to constant and +12v to accessories wire on the harness? Hows the ground? If everything is fine then sounds like a deck problem.

yea check for a loose connection in the power wire. Check your radio fuse. If you have no power to the deck you can't take ur cd out. You can crack it open if ur that desperate for it

My Blue Si: only reason i wanted to take the cd out is coz its not a burnt copy of something. ill prolly crack it open just for fun.

Also check the fuse on the yellow (constant) power wire. See if its blown.

There should be a manual CD release for just these occasions... really, check the manual or take it to Future Shop... they put this "key" in and the cd should eject itself manually... like a paperclip into just the right hole

this unit is a refurbished one from 4.5 yrs ago. FS might not even touch it lol.
i was looking for something like what u r talking about like in a cdrom but i couldnt find one.
the manual doesnt say anything about it too.
i'll just get a new/newer deck as i need front and rear rca outputs antway coz this one only has one output.
thanks guys.
