my amp doesnt get power

i have a crossfire model CFA302 amp. checked my grounds and everything. could it be the wattage of my power wire? cause the amp says +12 V. when i put on the wires, it lights up then quickly dies. like theres too much power or something. HELP!

Are fuses blowing at all. First of all... need 3 wires for power... constant feed from battery->fuse->amp
remote b from deck->amp
ground chassis->amp

If you ensure each of these gets what it's supposed to when it's supposed to... then you can look to your amp to be the culprit. Mainly, I'd focus on how good your connectors are (sometimes the connections get all fuct up and you get that short burst of power, and then it's out). Then I'd look at the remote b to be maintaining a 12V level when the deck is turned on.

Do you have a multimeter and have you used it to see what happens? Are you running a power distribution block?

Buying a $10 multimeter from CT is a good place to start. Test voltage and continuity. Cheap investment, great returns. You'll never go back to not owning one.

Well, you won't know till you test your wiring... you HAVE to do some tests in order to narrow down the possibilities...

Read loudsubz' sticky in this forum. I think it's called "When you have a problem"

bruno prety much summed it all up. Go out buy a MM first then get back to us, its the only way.

Or buy an automotive test light and hook it up and see if it works fine.

seeing as how your in Guam, I don't know how close a Canadian Tire is to you, so you may do the following. Take a regular automotive bulb... like an 1156 or something... take two wires, and solder them to the contacts. This is now your test light... use this to see if power is getting to your amp.

it probably means 30 amp got through at one time a dndistroyed your amp ...NEVER use a higher rated fuse then what your suppose to ....

I also suggest taking it to a car audio place in Guam there and ask about it... I'm sure someone local will be better suited to fixing it since they can look at the issue then
