Well, if you don't tell your insurance company and you get into an accident, you could find yourself on the hook as the ins comp can void your insurance for removing safety equipment that is mandatory. Now, mind you, if it is only an option and not mandatory, you can remove it. I believe that it is mandatory on a 2000 Civic.

ya, 280 is small, but imagine turning with that thing, jesus... LOL
But ya, with the safty issues and hassle from insurance, if I were to change it, I think JDM CTR steering wheel is nice if I wanted to be on the safe side. Or else, something like 280mm MOMO wheel is my choice, cause I don't think or at least I haven't found a JDM brand that makes wheel that small...
