kill switch installation

hey yall

so im buying a summer car that im probably gunna "pimp out" so i wanted to install a kill switch on my car.

thing is i wanted to install the kill switch so that its wired to my alarm system. i wanted the kill switch to activate when i activate my alarm.

i have a slight idea of where i want to install the kill switch but i wanted to know if there is a mechanic or if a shop would be willing to do it.

im not really that concerned about the price (unless one of you pops out a huge number) but i would like it to be under 500 for the whole system installed.

Since an half decent alarm is about $400+ installed I highly doubt it wouldn't be too much more. I really should get into installing alarms instead of engine swaps. hmm

point of a kill switch is to hide it somewhere in the car and switch it on when ur leaving the car, get urself a fuel pump kill switch! call up jeff at audio heaven, he did my 2way pager alarm and kill switches setup! great job! and he makes sure he is the only 1 in the garage when doing the kill switch so none of his employees know! only jeff knows!

you probably could do it with a regular relay, providing your alarm has a line that is powered constantly while its armed.

meaning while there is no voltage on the line the relay is in normal position, when the alarm activates there will be voltage on the line to the relay making it flip the relay into the disco position.

it takes a while to figure it out if you do it by your self, but its doable, Ive done it before a few times.

but again, if you get a dissent alarm($300++++ without parts/labor) you shouldn't have to do that.

a good alarm comes with a kill switch, if you go to selective sound give their wiring job a good looking over. personally id just get a switch, cut the fuel pump wire, and hide the switch.

If they are really after your ride, they will use a tow truck probably...
My father own a tow truck business, you'll be amazed how many times we tow a car with alarm going off and no one even looks at us... lol....

My friend had his 04 bimmer jacked right of his drive way, in the middle of the night, didn't even hear them come, just marks of double wheels on his lawn... lol...

LMAO Priceless I have seen this before lol..... But I am with everyone else if your in downtown pull stuff out lol unless you use one of those crappy tire battery savers lol with the remote its basically a kill switch but you will lose your presets on the radio and all your settings but thats an idea and you can hit the switch when you leave the car and its on your keys just my two cents
