i have two sets of coax speakers from them and they're awesome .. I don't know how the subs are but if they're as good a quality as their speakers I would recomemend them. Go to EHR if you want to check them out (East Hamilton Radio)

I personally wasnt too impressed with kaption stuff. they make stuff that the normal music listener would enjoy but someone who considers themself an "audiophile" most likely wouldnt put there hands on the stuff.

Just because they "pounded" in a protege hatchback, most likely running a ported enclosure doesnt really mean anything. I could probably get the $80 pioneer subs from FS to pound super hard in the right enclosure, especially a ported one. If your looking at buying subs from a not so mainstream company there are tons out there that IMO are better quality and give better value for your dollar.

kaption is awesome I would put their stuff against a jl audio w7 anytime It is made here in Canada and it great for any configuration their spl subs take a beating and their amps make a lot of power. If you are thinking of buying their product go for you will not be dissapointed. This stuff is the best thing to come out of Canada since Pamela Anderson.

You could not be more wrong who ever let you hear the stuff probably didn't have the right set up in his car. Kaption is a very good car audio brand and it is very high end stuff.

Lets say i wantd one or 2 lets say SPL subs in my car. best place woudl be to drop them in the trunk, and since im unsure of future plans, just but them in a sub box for now. Wouudl i be ablle to hook them up to my stock system or would i have to replace my radio and my stock speakers?

you can hook them up to your stock system but you will need a good amp to run those subs

So nwo pretty much to get at least one sub is going to be 150, and now to get the amp to run it, is going to be another 200 or over?

ive heard a few setups with Kaption stuff in the Kaption boxes and i wasnt impressed. For the price some of there stuff sells at I would just expect a crisper sound from them but thats just how i felt. I know this year they actual put some money into R&D to get a unique basket for there spl subs. What makes them a "high end" ? I can see them being higher end that like MTX, blaupunkt, JVC, Jensen etc but from my experiences with them I wouldnt put them up with CDT, JL, Eclipse, eD, DLS, Diamond Audio, Focal etc.

You gotta pay to play man, i spent more than most peoples systems cost on just my deck:cry:

Also you will need a line-level converter to use ur rear speaker lines and convert them to an RCA connection unless the amps have the speaker level input connections. Then you need to run power and a remote wire from the from of the car and evrything so u will need an amp kit. IT all adds up man so be ready with your wallet open.

I'm with chris. Unless kaption dramatically changed they seemed to sound dirty most of the time, High SPL but for SQ not so much

So if i hook up one spl sub, i could throw that anwyere correct? ANd then i want it to give a huge *** bounce as well so an enclosure would help. so then would i still need an amp to run one sub?

no matter what ,if you want proper bass you need an enclosure and an amp. if you hook up a sub to just your deck you will blow your decks speaker outputs.

Selective,

Do you sell the kaption audio 12 inch sub and amps and a box? Would a 12 inch be my best bet for the set up? Also since i do not have a deck, which one would go along with this set up nicely, i want a good killer base but trunk room. ANd not an arm and a leg paid for.
