ahhh JL's are overrated... the w0's are honsetly garbage... they have low wattage and low rms.. for the price u pay for JL w0's u can get better subs with more watts and higher RMS for less cost..i was going myself for 2 12' JL w0's.. if u want to go JL.. start looking at the w6's they are higher end... but ur going to pay an arm and a leg
i have 2 kenwood 12's DVC.. and they out pounded my friends 2 12" JL w0's and another ones 2 12" Fosgates...and they were both in ported boxes and mines a sealed
just look around.. to tell u the truth.. if ur not going into competiton.. look around.. research.. names arent everything..

I like to call your bluff, just because you say yours was sealed and his was ported doens't mean a thing untill you say how big the box was and what it was tuned to, and did you put them under the mix to see what dB you hit?
As for the W0, you cant go by spec. The 125 watt rms is underated, if you ever pushed a W0 you know they take a beating and almost double their RMS. Ive heard of guys running 200 watt RMS + to them and they survive fine. DOnt judge a book by its cover.
Ive also seen some subs like Pyramid whose specs say they handle 400 watts RMS and people push half the power and they blow, why???? because some manufacturers like to rate their products under diff circumstances that would never be true.

they were different setups and everything.. but what i really ment was in general.. like as u said.. u cant judge a book by its cover.. and u can probably agree with me that there are subs out there that can meet up to JL's.. well atleast the w0's (dont get me wrong JLS are smoking iam thinking of later on getting a set of w7's when i get the $$$.. those subs take the breath right out of me) its just there are some ppl out there that just go for names so they hear JL or soemthing and there like oh man.. best subs in the world.. gotta get them.. no one really takes the time anymore to look..think..research.. and then u see those people walkig around saying oh yah i got such n' such subs.. i rock...

alot of subs are rated at higher frequecys than you would ever push them.thats why the blow,there not realy made to hit low notes.ill bet if you take a jl w0 you could pump about 800watts into at 10k and it would handel it no prob but try doin that at 60hertz and youd blow the former and spider right off the sub
