JDM SiR cluster, dimmer problem...
Hi.
I have a JDM EG SiR cluster, that doesnt have a socket for dimmer switch. I took the dimmer circuit assembly out of my DX cluster, and installed it into the SiR one. Everything hooks up fine, but still I cant control the lights with the dimmer switch. Anyone knows what the problem could be?
Also, Im trying to match the clusters kms with my cars actual milage. I took the Speedometer out of the cluster, but I couldnt move the numbers. Anyone know how to do it?
Thanks in advance.

you cant get the dimmer to work, the clusters are dim enough anyway. I had an idea to take the circuit map from the USDM one and use it on the JDM to make it work...never seen it done though.
as for the mileage, you can easily move it forward...but to move it back is a different story. You have to take the speedo out, remove almost all the screws. You get the ink part out of a pen and use it to push down on spring that allows the numbers to move freely. Then get a dremel with a rubber end on it and you'll see the gear that rotates the numbers...GENTLY take the dremel end to that and spin it backwards until you get to where you want. Apparently Honda dealers can move it for you for like $20. I'd go this route to be safe.
This is technically illegal. However i bought a cluster and it had 190xxx kms on it and my car had 160...I'm just trying to be honest.
and sorry for the ****ty explanation, hope it can help a bit

if 5th gen clusters are the same kinda make up as 4th gen ones...its way easy to move back the mileage without a dremel or anything of the sort
on the end of the spindle that the numbers spin on there is a c-clip, remove that which allows the numbers to slide to the side a mm or 2, this is enough to slide them to the side and then roll them to the desired mileage...put the c-clip back when ur done and ur good to go

I bought a JDM VTi cluster that had a busted up housing, so I just swapped the JDM gauge pods and put them into my stock housing.
What I have now is a JDM VTi cluster that has a functional dimmer switch!
