How do I remove my speakers...

I need to remove my stock speakers out of my 98 civic 2 door. I have no idea how to remove them. I could't see anything to remove to get them out? I want to replace my rear speakers.

yeah I think you need to take out the side panels, then take off the rear parcel shelf then remove the speakers.

rear deck pops off... exposes some wiring and screws. Ez- to do if you know what to look for... just crawl in your trunk, and push out the milky white plastic clips... be sure to fold your seats down though!

I figured those white clips had something to do with it, but they were so hard to budge i did not want to force on them too much not knowing if those were the pins I had to play with. But from what I remeber the back panel is under the side panels which would need to be removed first, no?

You can actually do it without taking of the side panels . You can massage it out

I don't really want to have to pay for this, it seems very simple, just need to know how to do it right.

Trust me, like Akira said, it's not easy. If you have a 98 like myself, you need to take out your rear seats first, then the side panels, then the rear dash. Then you can hold the plastic clips underneath with some pliers while unscrewin them from above. IT's a pain.

My friend was too lazy to do that so he took a carpet knife, heated it up with a lighter, and cut around the speaker covers. then he popped them out. After that he broke the white clips, pulled out the screws, etc, etc. When putting the new 6X9's in, he used plastic Zip Ties to secure them! crazy, lazy, but worked.
