Help Music Shuts Off!!
Hey I was wondering if anyone knows what my problem is. When I'm playing my music and the car is at idle, my music starts to shut off after 10-20min. My amps are all down, the sub control is down, the deck sub control is down, all I really want to do is hear the mids and highs but it shuts off. This can be very annoying and it never use to do this before, PLUS the car is ON, maybe battery? Alt. might be going?

It doesn't really shut down, it cuts off for less than 1 sec then comes back on. It continues to do so until i turn it down. I dont think it's the deck(panasonic DFX983U) because when I'm actually driving instead of just sitting there it will never cut out, only after it has been playing for a while in the same spot. I could try that boosting thing, then i guess that would mean i need a new battery. Should i let it start cutting out before I try to do it? Or should I do it from the start?

Sounds like maybe your electrical system isnt able to supply enough voltage at idle. I would look into upgrading all the grounds in your engine bay and if that doesnt work then i would look into a new battery.
What are you running for amps and subs?

lets say it was overheating, when I start driving i turn it up and play it longer but it never cuts off. So if it was over heating why doesnt it overheat when i'm driving and only when im in 1 spot? Thats why i still dont think it's the deck

running 3 diamond audio 12's and bostwick 1000(rms)amp and 250(rms)amp with my panasonic dfx983U. Stock battery. I think it may be the battery, it has died many times and i think it needs to be replaced, or alt. is not charging fast enough

that could it then... cause when you car is idling the alternator wont be spinning as fast as when you motor is at speed say 3000 rpm.. so the battery is getting less juice too... but if that was the case shouldn't it all shut down... like all hte electrical stuff??

I would get some 4 awg wire and upgrade your grounds in the engine bay before getting a new battery. ie. battery to chassis, battery to alt and alt to chassis. If that doesnt fix the problem then I would look into a frsh battery.

PunkInDrublic, I have no idea, everything else electrical seems to work other then the stereo. But I could be wrong cause when i hear it cutting out i run over and turn it down.

The easiest way would be to do it yourself but if you cant then I am not sure if any stereo shops do it. I would pm loudsubz and see if he would make you some crimp ring ground wires for some money. It wouldnt cost more than say $40 if you went with some cheaper wire. All you have to do is measure the length of 4awg wire that you need for each connection and then solder some ring terminals onto each end and connect it up.
