HELP Deck Problem!!!

TOday I get into the car and radio comes on. Then all of a sudden screen goes black, then i touch it it comes back. I turn up the volume a notch buttons are stiff as ever. I press once and the deck goes haywire and pumps it to the max. Don't know if 6x9's / sub are blown. Help, loudsubz? Anyone else. ?
thanks

I didn't drive the car for like a week. Maybe motor and all is frozen?

What kind of deck is it again? Controls could be stiff and when you pressed it, they got "stuck" and turned up real loud.

Bad ground most likely.... or there is an internal wiring problem. Kenwood make shitty decks man. Good mainstream decks are Pioneer, Sony, and Nakimichi.

what happens when you use the remote??
is this a removable face unit?? take it inside for a day or so and try it again..sounds like it's moistured up and the contacts are crossing..

or, if you've hed it a while, sometimes the pins need a little "tightening" (on removable face units..)

I love Pioneer, great decks. Im not a fan of kenwood but there alright IMO, but Sony I dont like at all, heard too many horror stories and IMO the Xplode line is garbage. Very low quality.

The Mobile ES was supposed to be alot better.

I kept it in overnight and still the same problem. I 'm going to look for the receipt b/c i think i got a 3yr ext warranty from FS. Not sure though. If its under the FS warranty, do u think they will fix it? The motor is also malfunctioning. It flips down and sits there, without turning on.
thanks

if it's still under warranty just take it back and tell them "wtf??"..
it was fine a few days ago and then "poof"...nuthin'.....which is basically what happened...you should be able to leave yer car alone for a few days, even months w/o having yer deck take a shyt...

if the problem doenst happen when the fs guy looks at it, what should i say? I don't want to be back evrytime it happens and will they say that the warranty is void b/c I now have a sub/amp in? Should I remove he rcas on the back of the deck, before I take it for them to check?

thanks

I can't do that now, it's almost a year now, and the deck is discontinued, they only have this years model. Besides they installed the deck. Should I remove the rcas that go to the amp?

Even if its disconitnued, if they offer the warrenty they should give you an equivelant model.

I know, but as their install policy says: They will remove stereo and put in another car if I wanted free of charge, so I'm assuming they will take the deck out to look at it. In that case, should I take the rcas out? Yes ?

Yes, mine as well as they might say that your amp install caused the problem with the deck.

O.k thanks loudsubz, I don't need to take all the wiring out do I ? I'll just unplug the Rcas from the back of the deck and leave them dangling. I'll say I was going to install a system but b/c the deck malfuctioned, I don't want to unless its fixed. Sound good?
