It actually makes quite a noticable difference in sound as well as takes away from buzzing at different frequencies, if your going to do dynamat then I highly reccomend getting the dynamat extreme, its the best out there.

I would recommend getting some edead v.3 and spraying it on the inside door skin, outside door skin and on the door panel itself. Then take either some thin metal or even some of the regular deadning materil and cover up as many of the holes in the inner door skin as you can. Doing this will improve the overall sound and midbass from your speakers and also help cut down on road noise etc.
ps - dynamat extreme isnt the best **** out there....

its not an opinion though its a fact, liquid deadeners work just aswell if not better than any ashfalt based deadener. Liquid deadeners are cheaper, easier to apply and get into every nook and cranny and also give a better finished appearance aswell.
ne which way you look at it liquid deadeners outperform the regular sheet deadeners.

yes thickness does play a big roll in deadening but its also mass and the effectiveness of the product to reduce vibrations. Sure to get a liquid deadener as thick as dynamat extreme it would require quite a few layers but most liquid deadeners dont need to be as thick as the normal deadeners to be effective.
I know the cascade spray was pretty expensive when it was the only liquid deadener on the market but edead v.3 is about $1 a sq foot and is IMO the best liquid deadener on the market.
If you base your choice on price, application, finish, and effectiveness edead will be at the top or near the top of all of those categories.
If you find im talking down to you maybe you should read some of your replies to peoples questions and then you maybe you will see where im coming from.
