Im thinking about getting a dvd/navi system in to my car, but thinking of the security of my car once one of these are in my vehicle.

Being a civic, we are one of the most targeted cars to be stolen because of the available and easy access to switch VIN #'s and the ease of chopping the parts, Just wanted opinions or stories of either how you hide your system for your own enjoyment and away from others who have other intentions for your system. I know a few people say get a nicer alarm, but i don't think it will help. any tricks or ways of hiding your systems away from thieves, my windows are already tinted etc so ya opinion away

get a pager alarm with proximity sensors, tilt sensors, kill switches etc. tinted windows help, detachable face plates, parking in well lit areas, just be safe, and know your surroundings. No matter what you do or try to keep your car safe, if they want it bad enough they'll find away to take it.

how much does that kind of alarm come up too? more than the system? lol Detachable face plates for dvd indash? exist?

single din w pop out screen, yes..
dual din i haven't seen one as yet, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist

please be more specific as to what you're referring to please...navi and dvd both come in multiple formats

talking about dvd/navi all in ones like the pioneer avic-n1-n3

the ones that basically have a flip up screen , i didn't know those screens came off but i'm still pretty new to these types of systems
