Cluster guages not working?? Any ideas??

Cluster guages not working?? Any ideas??
Alright here's the deal I picke up a new car and the guy had some bad wiring.. I have fixed what he had and everything works on the cluster except for the guages!!!
The fix I made was the dimmer switch wasent connected and the person before wired the lights from cluster to the power supply lighter..
I re connected the dimmer got everythingto work ( light wise)
but no power to the guages..
Figured mabie the vss speed sensor but all guages don't work
ccould it be the cluster it self is done or shorted out? Any waysto check the guages?
