cigarette lighter doesnt work

my cigarette lighter doesnt pop out and get hot like its supposed to, and when i plug something into it, i dont think its supplying enough volts or whatever. Because i plugged this like thermometer/voltmeter into it and it only turned on half way. Is this a problem with a fuse, any help is cool thanks

if that happened to me.. i would start removing panels to see whats going on back there... i don't think its a fuse because i think all instrument lights and stuff are all connected tot he same fuse so everything would be going out.... im not positive about that though... if its a fuse just look under the dash and pull out that fuse manuel thing that tells you what all the fuses are for... look for the one that says lighter if there is one and check it....

if its not that then maybe its yoru ground is **** on that wire or a bad connection... im not 100 percent on this but its the first thing that comes to mind...

hopefully someone else will have better answers

Check the harness on the back of the pannel that plugs into it.
